BRUNSWICK AREA IN WARTIME

Two photographs of the desolation caused by the wiring off and mining of the Brunswick Lawns, the adjoining promenade and beaches during the Second World War. They remained in this condition for some four years. The photograph above looks into Waterloo Street, in which St Andrew’s Church clearly stands out.
