STIRLING PLACE

The north wall of St Andrew’s Church Burial Grounds, facing what is left of the houses in Malvern Street, on 8 December 1968. The stone, Hove Parish 1859, records the year the wall was built will doubtless remain for many years but I had it photographed while it is still legible. The three acres of ground were acquired for burials on 3 May 1858, but the houses of Malvern Street were not built until about 1870.
