WESTERN ROAD, HAMPTON PLACE – SPRING STREET

Demolition of the block has begun, the Bon Marché premises have gone and the roadway has been widened. It is easy to see from this photograph that the buildings were originally private houses and that shop fronts had been built out over the front gardens.
