WESTERN ROAD, HAMPTON PLACE – SPRING STREET

December 1933. Waters’ new building, at 143 has been completed and the old shop, which projected in front to the old line of pavement, has been taken down. Only a narrow strip of roadway remains to be widened and traffic lights have been installed at the junction with Preston Street. The temporary premises at the far end of the block is used by Staffords for the sale of Christmas toys.
