DAMAGE TO THE WEST PIER DECEMBER 1896

Probably the best and certainly the clearest of many of the photographs of the damage to the West Pier. It was taken by the then well known photographers Messrs. W & A H Fry of 68 East Street, Brighton. Nearly a century later, we face an almost similar scene, not due to the force of the elements but to man’s neglect of this beautiful Structure.
