WEST PIER c.1900

Professor Reddish, whose act was “flying the foam”. This consisted of his riding his bicycle from a high diving board into the sea at the Pier Head. He fell into that area of the sea enclosed within the iron landing stages to the great excitement of the Edwardian ladies.
