BOUNDARY HOUSE, DITCHLING ROAD

These photographs, of April 1956, show the extensive grounds behind the house. On the left are the houses in Osbourne Road, with the old boundary wall running along the ends of their gardens. Boundary House and gardens occupied an area of about 2 acres. Land outside the borough was cheap when this house was built – hence the large garden. This site is now covered by the bungalows of Beacon Close, mostly built during 1957.
