SURRENDEN ROAD

When St Marys Roman Catholic Church was built here in 1912 a large tract of adjoining land was left undeveloped. It might have been intended for some other church buildings, but whatever the reason was the area was merely used for allotment gardens for nearly 60 years. It was certainly over-ripe for development when it came to the market in 1969. View east towards Surrenden Road, from the rear of Harrington Villas.
