Here also the year of the photograph is in some doubt. The sandbagged base of the Clock Tower does not settle the issue. It could have been at the time of the Munich crisis, in 1938, but more likely a year later, at the outbreak of War. Note the White Lion Hotel, and the roof of the Regent ballroom.
