LANDSLIP AT BLACK ROCK

The scene on the beach following the severe landslip of January 1891. The fall occurred between Black Rock and the houses at the foot of Rifle Butt Road, which can just be seen beyond the cliff Edge. There were many such slips after this before the construction of the Undercliff Walk in the 1930’s put a stop to this.
