Twenty years previously the only house in this district was Port Hall, which gives its name to the houses in Port Hall Road, here shown as recently built. The row of posts and wire marked the boundary between Brighton and Hove, and those on the left the extent of the widening of Dyke Road carried out later in this year. The house on the right is the present 148, Dyke Road.
