SUSSEX TERRACE

This old house, 13 Sussex Terrace, faced south, and was probably the first house to be built in this street. For many years it was occupied by Mr. J. Likeman, builder and lime burner, and adjoining land to the east was known as Sussex Graperies. These prevented any egress into Richmond Street and the original width of the terrace was just the width of this house.
The photograph dates from 1956 and the house was demolished in 1959.
