WESTFIELD COTTAGE

The only known photograph of Westfield Cottage which was demolished as long ago as 1890. It was one of two houses in Westfield Gardens approached from a narrow opening between 109 and 111, Kings Road. In fact the houses were often called 110 and 110a, Kings Road. Despite its name it was a substantial house, not just a cottage, being double fronted. Date of the original photograph, about 1860. The house was removed with many other properties for the building of the Hotel Metropole, which also took in the whole of Westfield Gardens.
