KINGS ROAD AND BRILL’S BATHS

As can be seen, this photograph was copied from a stereoscopic view of the beach, with the Chain Pier in the background. Groyning was in progress, and by the extent of the piling and excavating this could well be preparatory work for the construction of the East Street Promenade groyne in 1867. This is just a theory, but cannot be proved.
