YORK PLACE

The hairdresser’s shop of George Fyfe at 19 York Place. The date is unknown but as he was in business here from 1889 to 1893, we can narrow it down to that period. From the railings on either side it can be seen that when these were private dwellings, each had a small front garden. It is interesting to note that in 1960 the hairdressing business is still there. This was copied from a very old, faded and blotchy photograph.
