PANORAMA FROM BUCKINGHAM PLACE

Of these two photographs, the smaller one is an enlargement of part of the other. Lewes Road can be picked out and note the broad curve of Wellington Road. Behind are a few houses in De Montford Road and Agnes Street. Hanover Mill is on the right and Race Hill Mill on the skyline. In the centre is the chapel of the Parochial cemetery while low down on the extreme left are the farm buildings of Scabe’s Castle which was roughly on the site of the present Hartington Road.
