This still preserves the appearance of a country lane as it did when I first knew it 40 years ago. Let us hope it can be saved from “improvement” for many years to come.
This photograph, which dates from the late 1930s, was taken from the land adjoining the wooden bungalow, Ivy Cottage, built in 1925 with a long front garden, and an even longer back garden which straggled down the hill to where Valley Drive is now.
