WITHDEAN PANORAMA

A photograph taken from a rear upstairs window of 11 Surrenden Close, about 1933 or 1934. It shows the railway cutting and the main London Road linked by the narrow bridge, demolished in 1951. Also Patcham Windmill and in front the Copse, still to be found in Bramble Rise. Houses built during the 1950s now cover all the intervening ground.
