OLD SHOREHAM AND THE TOLL BRIDGE

A good view of Old Shoreham Church, the ancient toll bridge and the railway signal box from which a railway employee collected the tolls from those using the bridge. These were quite modest, even after the last war being only 6d for a motor car. Nevertheless, a useful addition to railway funds. Year of the photograph – unknown.
