Building of the Odeon Cinema in progress. This building was completed with extraordinary rapidity.
This photograph was taken in November (see advertisement) yet the Cinema was complete and opened in Christmas week 1937.
The buildings at the end of the street have been removed and the cleared space added to the Stadium Car Park. Higher up can be seen the extension to Phoenix building, but no sign, as yet, of the new Regency Road.
