MARKET STREET

A most interesting photograph as it shows the “old and the new”. The bulk of the 1834 market building is still standing while, to the left, the new Floral Hall, which replaced it, is just being built. This was designed by Francis May, the Borough Surveyor. Year of the photograph probably 1900 or 1901.
