BLACK LION STREET & MARKET STREET

A rather blurred and indistinct copy of a very early photograph of Marker Street, looking south, with Brighton Town Hall at the left. The reason for the beflagged procession is not known but the photograph has the appearance of the ‘Sixties, so it might have had something to do with the wedding of the Prince of Wales (later King Edward V11th) in March 1863.
