SOUTH GATE OF THE ROYAL PAVILION

These buildings were erected in 1852, soon after the Brighton Town Commissioners had acquired the Pavilion. The gateway remained until 1921 when it was replaced by the present Indian Memorial Gateway, the gift of the Princes and people of India.
