Two recent photographs, of May 1994, of what were at some time farm cottages. Together with three other houses on the opposite side of the road they were part of Preston Farm, operated by Kings and Sons for many years. Some of the farm buildings still remain. There were reports that they were likely to be demolished and replaced by semi-detached houses. I do not know when they were built but the farm was in existence in the 1892s and is listed in local Directories. When I first saw them in September 1923, there were only a few houses at the Dyke Road end of this road and the farm was still in active use. As I write some years later the cottages are still here but in case they do go I had these photographs taken to show what was a rural scene in a now busy residential area.
