PRESTON ROAD

After the demolition of the neighbouring house, Preston Grange, in 1961, I penetrated to the far end of the garden where I found this grotto neatly constructed of broken stones and flints. Probably several generations of children had happily played in this grotto. No trace now remains as the site of the house and houses and a block of flats now cover garden.
