The view from Barnett Road across the valley in 1925. The wall in the foreground is the side wall of the present 45, Hollingbury Place. Most of this land formed part of Harrington farm and it was broken up for building plots in the 1920s. beyond the trees (now covered by Hertford Road School) are the houses in Hollingdean Terrace, the low building with the chimney near the roof edge being the present 120. In the far distance are houses in Hollingbury Park Avenue. Most of Stanmer Park Road and the whole of Stanmer Villas had yet to be built.
