NORTH STREET

Three comparatively recent photographs of buildings at the top of this busy street but which nevertheless show significant changes from the present time.
This view from Portland Street looking down to Windsor Street and beyond, in 1962. The Essoldo, built in 1939/1940, having been successively a theatre, a cinema and latterly a bingo hall, is now closed. National Westminster Bank has replaced the District.
