NORTH STREET

The last of the Coach and Horses. This photograph of 1927 shows this old Inn just after it had closed to the public for the last time. Note the small “closed” sign on each door. This was an eighteenth century Inn, where as long ago as 1785 cock-fighting was being held. Originally built in the style of the old houses adjoining to the east, the frontage was rebuilt in 1870 and remains almost unchanged to this day. Richard Mose was the last Licensee.
