CHAPEL STREET

2 and 3, Chapel Street, photographed on 20 June 1954, shortly before they were demolished. The street took its name from St James’s Chapel, later Church, which adjoined these old houses to the south. The ecclesiastical parish was amalgamated with that of St Marys, and the church was removed in 1950.
