MARINE GARDENS

Not many people now living realise that early in the present century, slum houses existed in Marine Gardens. In 1901, for instance, there were 21 houses in this road, as compared with 7, at the present time. Here can be seen 1 & 2, on the west side, in 1912. With the adjoining house, 3, and many on the opposite side they were swept away later in the same year.
