DEMOLITION OF LAUREL ROW

Taken in October 1936, the photograph looks from the east to west through the cleared area of this dismal slum. The chief point of interest, though, is the sight of the old flint and brick houses of Warwick Street. These turned at right angles from this street, forming two cul-de-sacs against the rear walls of the cottages on the north side of the slum alley.
