SWEET PATCH, BAKER’S BOTTOM

Not many Brightonians knew of the existence of this old bungalow. I had lived in Brighton for 29 years before I stumbled across it, quite by accident on 15 February 1952, when these photographs were taken. It stood high on the hill to the east of Craven vale allotments, screened from view by trees, and it was approached by a rough path leading from Walpole Road to the Race Hill.
