XAVERIAN COLLEGE GROUNDS

This photograph of February 12th, 1967, shows part of the extensive college grounds. Considered in conjunction with the present Queens Park they formed the surrounds of the Italian Villa built for Thomas Attree and later owned by George Duddell. Outside the long flint wall was built Queens Park Terrace which was started about 1890/1891. In this area are now to be built a number of Georgian-style houses by A.J. Wait & Co. Ltd. The background is dominated by St Luke's School.
