KING STREET

The east side of King Street, looking towards North Street in June 1975. As can be seen shops were boarded up and demolition had taken place where ancient Gerards Court had been. Removal continued in a desultory fashion until finally all the buildings seen went prior to the construction of the present enclosed car park, in 1982.
