NORFOLK ROAD METHODIST CHURCH

Built in 1868, this church was at one time a great power in Brighton Methodism. It was the home of the Brighton Boy’s Brigade and was where the Dome Mission started in 1909. By 1964, however, the congregation had dwindled and the final service was held on 31 August, after which the church was closed. Photographed 6 September 1964. The church was demolished early in 1965 and flats are to be built on the cleared site.
