BOROUGH STREET

The east side of this residential street, showing the recently opened St Stephens Church of England School – now occupied as a Timber Merchants Yard. It is interesting to note that two adjoining buildings were small public houses. At No. 38 was the Borough Arms tavern, while next door at No. 40 was the Swan Tavern. Both can be seen – far left. A recent print from a waxed paper negative.
