WEST STREET REDEVELOPMENT

A year later, in 1966, shows the effect of the clearances. Cars parked on the sites of Cannon Street and Artillery Street, with a view of the rear of the Grand Hotel. Note the bare wall of the building by large car-park. This shows the remains of two of the three tiny Cannon Street cottages hard up against the side wall of St Margarets Mission Hall. They were removed in the 1930s.
