KINGS ROAD AND BEACH

Two present day copies of quite old photographs, which both emphasise the quietness, even solitude, of the seafront in mid- Victorian days. This view was taken from a point just opposite Black Lion Street, as the sign on the lamp-post indicates. The kerbside railings had been fixed a few years later.
