This aerial photograph provides a glimpse of the gardens in front of the houses in Gloucester Place and St Georges Place. The railings around St Peters Church and the Valley Gardens were removed, and the shrubberies tidied, between 1921 and 1923. A little later the gardens in front of the houses were removed and the roadway widened.
This photograph was probably taken about 1913.
