DOWNLAND SCENES

These four photographs came into my possession many years ago, but I have no information as to their locations, other than the pencilled notes on two of them referring to Newtimber and Fulking Hill. However they were obviously taken on the Downs, near Brighton and in the days before the Second World War, when the Downs were given over almost all to sheep, and not cultivated as at present.
