A photograph of the late 1940s. First opened in 1936 it housed a Davis Cup match between Britain and New Zealand in 1939. After the War it reopened as the Brighton Olympic Stadium and included a small zoo but it closed down in 1952. Derelict for sometime thereafter it was taken over by Brighton Corporation and opened as Brighton Sports Arena in 1955.
