OLD LONDON ROAD

In this photograph, of about 1920, can be seen Old London Road and beyond, Ashburnham, Patcham Grange and Mill Cottages. Where the four lanes cross are four semi-detached cottages. These were then called Upper Varndean Cottages, but are now the first four houses in Greenfield Crescent. The lane running from left to right is now Braybon Avenue.
