SITE OF THE DYKE RAILWAY

Aerial view of Hove. The particular point of interest in this photograph is that it shows the Dyke Railway line leaving the main line and running through the cutting under Old Shoreham Road. After the closure of the line, this cutting was completely filled up and no trace of it now remains. Old Shoreham Road was widened where it had crossed the arch.
