DYKE STEEP – GRADE RAILWAY

This photograph is a view of the railway in 1905. It was opened on 24 July 1897, but only had a short life. The railway was 840 feet long and was worked with two 14 feet cars. All equipment was removed in 1913. Compare this with the following photograph showing the same area in 1955
