VIEW WESTWARDS FROM MARINE PARADE – SUMMER 1893

Items of special interest on this photograph are the chains supporting the Chain Pier crossing Madeira Road and the downward gradient of Volks Electric Railway to take it under the Pier. Note also the construction of the Palace Pier in its early stages and the general condition of the roadway.
