This group of photographs, taken during the 1950s, show the transformation which has since happened in the central area of the west side of this street. Starting with this photograph, the tall building which was in Kings Road and occupied for a long time by Barrance & Ford had gone and the site is empty. The adjoining Sea House Hotel now stands forlornly and in dilapidation.
