A copy of an old, and rather indistinct, photograph dating from the period, 1850-1863. One cannot be more precise. On the original, on the pediment on the Castle Square frontage, can be read the name – LOVERAGE. He was the owner of a haberdashers shop at 16, Castle Square, between the above dates. Many of the buildings on the Steine frontage were still private houses.
