Showing the house Robindene, from two aspects. This photograph shows the front of the house from Manor Road. It was built about 1897 and demolished in 1967. Terrace houses have since been built on the site.

Additional Information: Robindean was a large, three storey, late Victorian house with a Doric porch.
Robert Duncan advises us that the building shown is not the demolished Robindene, but is in fact still standing and forms part of the convent complex. There is a glimpse of Robindene in the following photograph. The convent complex has been sold recently (2008) to the Guinness Trust for Housing, and an application has been made to English Heritage to have it added to the List of Buildings of Architectural Interest
