LONDON ROAD, PATCHAM

A view of this, now, extremely busy road as it was about sixty years ago. The area is between the Pylons and the Patcham crossroads. The exact year is not known but it is most likely the late 1920s or early 1930s. Most of these dwellings may have been built before 1928 when this area became incorporated with Brighton. The gabled double fronted remains but most of the others have gone, removed during 1937-8 when Brighton Corporation levelled the sloping ground and laid out the present Brapool recreation ground.
