TRAFALGAR STREET

A 1990 photograph of the demolitions and rebuilding going on in the area to the north of this old street. In the congestion of the buildings it is hard to see which is which. A large site eastwards from the Station Street and including the Railway Goods Yard premises and offices is to be cleared and replaced by new offices, flats and shops fronting Trafalgar Street. This is to be named Trafalgar Place. Streets that can be identified include Cheapside, Belmont Street, Ann Street, while massive Theobald House flats still dominate the scene.
